New FIFA 21 Trailer released – What we know so far: Changes, Release & more

Fans worldwide are already looking forward to the next entry to the FIFA franchise. What will FIFA 21 have in store? We’ve got everything known so far.

As rumours and leaks start popping up for FIFA 21 we gathered the most important questions for your convenience:

First FIFA 21 trailer:

The new trailer does not reveal too many details about the game. The VOLTA game mode will return once more, other parts hint towards a co-op mode in FIFA Ultimate Team, while United legend Eric Cantona seems to get a Icon card. On the official website EA is less stingy with information and has revealed some of the changes coming to the next FIFA installment:

  • Gameplay (Agile Dribbling, Positioning Personality, Creative Runs, smoother encounters, competitor mode)
  • Career mode (interactive match sim, revamped growth system, active training system, activity management system, enhanced opposition AI, new initial set-up options)
  • FUT (FUT Co-Op. new customisations, cross-gen transfers and leaderboards),
  • VOLTA (VOLTA SQUADS, Featured Battles)

EA also gave some insight to the licenses in FIFA 21 on a special page including Champions League, Europa League, CONMEBOL Libertadores, Premier League, Bundesliga and La Liga.

When will FIFA 21 release?

EA Sports stated that the COVID19-Pandemic will not delay development of FIFA 21. The newest entry to the series will release according to schedule on October 9.

If you preorder the Ultimate or Champions edition you will also have early access starting form October 6. For the earliest possible date you will need an EA Access subscription. Subscribers will unlock the game on October 1 for “Play First Trials” which will have some limitations.

On which platforms will FIFA 21 release?

FIFA 21 will be available for the current console generation besides PC. Owners of PlayStation 4 or Xbox One don’t need to rush for the upcoming PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X.

EA will also introduce the “Dual Entitlement” system that will offer free upgrades for players who buy the PS4 or Xbox One versions once the newest generation releases.

Which new features are coming in FIFA 21?

As of now nothing official has been announced in terms of features and additions for FIFA 21. Fans will have to be patient and wait until August for further details.

During their EA Play Live event the developers only shared the official reveal trailer above that did not show any gameplay.
