Zonic might be leaving Astralis – HUNDEN as new head coach?

One of the most winning coaches in the history of CS:GO might soon be departing the team he had so much success with in the past years.

Apparently Danny “Zonic” Sørensen is no longer happy with the direction Astralis has been taking lately, while also facing some struggles and discussion between the players and the organisation itself. As the contracts of the players are running out with the end of the year approaching, this might be the right moment to take a step back and look out for a new opportunity as a coach.

According to the report by HLTV, Astralis are already looking for a possible replacement for Zonic with Nicolai “HUNDEN” Petersen, the current head coach of Heroic, as one of the biggest candidates right now. HUNDEN earlier faced consequences after being involved in the spectator bug scandal.

In any case, it’s very likely that Astralis will boast an entirely new look as we near the end of the year. Almost all players on the main roster have their contract running out and if the report talking about internal struggles and conflict is true, they might be looking for a new opportunity elsewhere. With that, one of the most iconic and legendary CS:GO rosters might be falling apart after already losing one piece in the form of Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz who went to Ninjas in Pyjamas.
