LoL – TSM complete their roster for Summer Split 2020

UPDATE: TSM has confirmed Spica’s promotion to the starting roster for the upcoming Summer Split 2020.

After Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett departed for dignitas, Team SoloMid (TSM) was in need of a new starting jungler for the upcoming split starting on June 12. TSM’s academy jungler Mingyi “Spica” Lu will step up to the starting roster as the team officially promoted him to their LCS squad.

Spica has been with TSM’s academy team since April 2019. During the Summer Split Playoffs 2019 he made his LCS debut as he was subbed in against Clutch Gaming. Although his short stint was unsucessful TSM clearly see the potential in Spica as he will now be part of the starting lineup next to starplayer Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng.

TSM’s complete starting roster for Summer Split 2019:

  • Sergen “Broken Blade” Çelik (Top)
  • Mingyi “Spica” Lu (Jungle)
  • Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg (Mid)
  • Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng (Bot)
  • Vincent “Biofrost” Wang (Support)

Original article from May 14:

While Team SoloMid (TSM) is still dealing with the fallout that came with the public revelation that starting Jungler Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett was on his way out, another leak has hit the news.

During a stream current TSM support Vincent “Biofrost” Wang has accidentally leaked DMs in Discord that hint towards Mingyi “Spica” Lu becoming the new starting Jungler for LCS Summer 2020.

On the screenshot fans can see a private Discord messaging group consisting of members of TSM’s management as well as the starting players of the LCS squad. The topic itself is not that intriguing as it is just about a form concering health and food of the players.

Much more interesting are the members of the private group. Dardoch is suspiciously absent, instead Spica can be seen. Spica has been a part of TSM’s Academy team since 2019. During the Summer Split 2019 he even made his LCS debut but was unable to propel TSM towards Worlds as they lost in the Gauntlet to Clutch Gaming.

Coupled together with the outrage over the treatment of Dardoch by TSM’s president Leena Xu these are heavy indicators that Spica might have another shot at leaving his mark on the LCS.

The LCS Summer Split is set to begin on June 13th.
