eFootball 2022 was highly anticipated as it’s a free-to-play game and ‘evolution’ of the Pro Evolution Soccer series. While it was released a day before the official release of the FIFA series, it was met with quite a bit of disdain and disappointment. According to players the graphics aren’t really what they’re supposed to be, including some funny facial expressions, and the gameplay is clunky and slow, with the game garnering low reviews on many game review websites.

Konami went on to release a lengthy statement after criticism and feedback surfaced, basically apologizing for the game in its current state. “We are very sorry for the problems, and want to assure everyone we will take all concerns seriously and strive to improve the current situation.”

They also went on to say that they think eFootball is a long-term project and that they’ll be continuing to work on the game throughout the year. “This work will be continuously updated, quality will be improved and content will be added consistently. From next week onward, we will prepare for an update in October, while receiving further opinions through questionnaires to our users.”
