Device gets his first MVP trophy with NIP

The former Astralis star, Nicolai “Device” Reedtz has been a consistent fragger for Ninjas In Pyjamas ever since his stunning roster swap. The Dane led NIP to their first notable tournament win since IEM Oakland in 2017. Along with pulling NIP back into relevance, Device picked up his first MVP award with the new squad.

Device has received the most MVP awards in CS:GO history, clocking in at 19 overall counting this most recent performance. Device earned a 1.35 overall rating throughout 15 total maps. The 26-year-old ranked top five in countless categories, including KPR, Rating, ESR, AWP Kills, and overall K/D.

The Danish superstar is no stranger to winning, as his time with Astralis marked the longest and most winning dynasty in CS:GO history. His historic signing with NIP marked an undeniable shift in the game’s esports scene. Astralis has not been able to reclaim the same success without Device, though the fragger’s start on NIP was not optimal either.

Deivce, and NIP generally, struggled to find early success with their new roster despite the individual performances of its players. Finally, the primarily Swedish roster is seemingly hitting their stride with the lone Dane leading the charge.

The only player in striking distance of Device’s incredible 15-MVP feat is Natus Vincere’s Oleksandr ‘S1mple’ Kostyliev. The two teams are locked in to the first Major in CS:GO in almost two years, PGL Stockholm. Whether or not NIP and Device can continue their success will be seen on LAN against some of the strongest teams in the world.
