CS:GO – These are the most important Matchmaking Platforms

Annoyed at CS:GO’s 64 tick servers and in need of alternatives? We have taken a closer look at the most important Matchmaking Platforms for CS:GO and compared them.

One of the reasons players get upset with CS:GO’s built-in matchmaking is the tickrate of their servers. With plenty of 128 tick servers around it is not surprising that many players prefer the more fluid experience on them. The ranking system in CS:GO is also often criticized but Valve has shown no signs of changing those any time soon.

Thankfully other external providers have picked up the slack and provided the more competitive players with a home. We have taken a look at the three most important and common platforms on the market.

FACEIT | With over 15 million players Faceit is the largest and most well-known Matchmaking platform. It not only features 128 tick servers, but also an improved ranking system with levels and elo points. Faceit also offers tournaments and leaderboards that give out prizes to teams or even solo queuers. Players also need to run an anti-cheat program parallel to the game in order to queue for Faceit. The platform also offers a large variety of statistics on your player profile to keep track of. Faceit also supports other games besides CS:GO, titles like Dota 2, PUBG or Rocket League. If you choose to subscribe to Faceit you can pick between two plans. One is aimed at CS:GO players and is slightly cheaper than the other aimed at players for all titles. | Image Credit: FACEIT
ESEA | ESEA is the second largest platform and Faceit`s biggest competitor. The platform has a large American userbase in addition to European players. Just like Faceit, ESEA offers 128 tick servers and an anti-cheat client. ESEA`s anti-cheat is often a target for critique as it boots with your operating system and is permanently active, scanning you computer for suspicious programs. While that enables ESEA to have almost cheat-free games it also invades the privacy of its users heavily. ESEA only focuses on CS:GO and only offers a subscription for Valve`s shooter. | Image Credit: ESEA
Esportal | The third platform on our list is Esportal. Just like their competitors the platform offers Solo Ladders and tournaments. They also host Star Gathers, where users can match up against stars of their scene. If you subsribe to their premium service you also have a chance to win CS:GO skins through giveaways or drops. Esportal also hosts an overview of statistics for its users to help them analyze their games. | Image Credit: Esportal
Conclusion

If you compare the three platforms just by their services in regards to CS:GO, there are only small differences between them. Faceit has the largest playerbase and also offers the biggest amount of possibilities. ESEA has all the necessary features too, but also several weaknesses. Especially with EU and NA players aplenty it might be difficult ot achieve low ping on ESEA servers.

If you are looking for a more localised community you should consider Faceit and Esportal, In terms of maximum value for your subscription Faceit also offers the most for your buck.
