Confirmed: VALORANT is coming to mobile

The rumor had been circulating for quite a while, but now there’s confirmation. Popular Riot Games FPS VALORANT will be making its way to mobile.

VALORANT has been a mainstay in the FPS world for almost a year now and the game shows no signs of slowing down, showing a consistent and growing player base and a flourishing esports scene, as was evident by the success of the most recent LAN, VALORANT Stage 2 Masters. Now Riot Games has announced VALORANT will take another big step as it’s coming to mobile devices.

As to when the game is coming to mobile exactly, a release date hasn’t been set by the developer. Chances are we’ll see a release and rollout similar to Wild Rift. It’s not the first time Riot Games has ventured into the world of mobile game, already bringing other popular titles over, such as League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra and TeamFight Tactics, all of which have been well-received by fans and new players alike.

It’s one thing to bring a MOBA or a card game to mobile, but chances are porting an FPS might be a big challenge. The FPS games that already made their way to mobile, such as Call of Duty and PUBG for example, have been smash hits however. It’ll be interesting to see how Riot looks to adapt VALORANT to fit the mobile market and, perhaps most importantly, the hardware.
