Cloud9 and Evil Geniuses pull off narrow victories to climb the LCS standings

The LCS has continued to see contentious games go into the late game, today Cloud9 and Evil Geniuses came out as the biggest winners

The LCS has seen countless games go into late game situations, all dramatically contingent on neutral objective team fights. Today, Evil Geniuses and Cloud9 came out on top in these situations.

Evil Geniuses finally find success

Evil Geniuses invested a great deal into making an LCS contending roster, though have struggled to find these intended results. Today, Evil Geniuses found a crucial win against a top of the standings team. Evil Geniuses’ primary shortcoming this season was converting their early game success into a victory, specifically around the midlane.

Ironically, in one of the few games Daniele “Jiizuke” Di Mauro trail in lane differentials at 15 minutes, the EG midlaner had a massive impact. Though both teams wildly traded the lead in the late game, Evil Geniuses prevailed after a miraculous base defense. Evil Geniuses seem poised to break away from the periphery, finally above a .500 record.

Cloud9 out last CLG

CLG, though off with only one win across their games thus far, have shown incredible improvement when compared to their performances last season. With all their starters available from the start of the season, the once proud NA organization have given top teams a formidable challenge. Cloud9 was among the most recent team to find out that CLG were no longer a free win.

With an almost exclusively damage dealing comp reliant on Philippe “Vulcan” Laflamme’s Lulu sustain, Cloud9 took nearly 37 minutes to get of the ground. Luka “Perkz” Perkovic took the burden to initiate into his own hands, showing the composition’s potential when fully unlocked. Though with a stagnant start, Cloud9 appear to have regained their footing.
