All past LoL World Champions

The League of Legend World Championship is the biggest esport event of the year. Join us on a trip down memory lane with past champions.

It all began in 2011 with a European championship, but over the years Asian teams have established a clear dominance on the international stage.

However Eastern dominance has not negatively affected viewership, over the years the audience increased from 1,6 million in 2011 to a staggering over 100 million in 2019.

Here are all the past Worlds champions, starting with 2020’s winner DAMWON Gaming:

DAMWON Gaming (2020) in Shanghai | Heralding the return of the LCK to the throne, DAMWON Gaming defeated Suning 3-1 to claim the 2020 World Championship for Korea.
FPX (2019) in Paris | It could have been the second European title, but G2 missed out on the perfect LoL season. FunPlusPhoenix blew G2 out of the water with a clear 3-0 scoreline, establishing China as the next powerhouse region after Korea.
Invictus Gaming (2018) in Incheon | 2018 marked the first time a Chinese team took home the World Championship. Invictus Gaming dethroned the Koreans, who had held the throne for five years in a row. Their clear 3-0 victory over Fnatic showed their dominance.
Samsung Galaxy (2017) in Beijing | Beijing was host to an All-Korean final during Worlds 2017. Samsung White managed to 3-0 Faker\'s SKT T1.
SKT T1 (2016) in Los Angeles | 2016 was the last time Faker won Worlds. It also was the last time a Worlds final did not end in a 3-0 stomp. SKT T1 took down Samsung White 3-2 to take home the championship.
SKT T1 (2015) in Berlin | A year prior the champions were also SKT T1 and Faker made his first claim as greatest of all time as a 19-year old. Dispatching KOO Tigers 3-1 in the finals SKT T1 won Worlds 2015.
Samsung Galaxy White (2014) in Seoul | Samsung Galaxy White triumphed in front of their home crowd in 2014. Beating Uzi\'s StarHorn Royal Club with 3-1 they were the second Korean team to win Worlds.
SK T1 (2013) in Los Angeles | 2013\'s Worlds was Faker\'s first title. In LA they beat Uzi\'s Royal Club Huang Zu 3-0.
Taipei Assassins (2012) in Los Angeles | In one of the greatest underdog runs of LoL history the Taipei Assasins put Taiwan on the LoL world map and were one of the main reasons for League\'s popularity in Taiwan. They won the title by dispatching Korean Azubu Frost 3-1.
Fnatic (2011) In Jönkoping | The very first edition of Worlds was without any teams from the East. Fnatic won the title over French team Against All Authority. North American teams TSM and Epik Gamer only made it to the semifinals.
