Will TNC Predator stomp the SEA TI10 Qualifiers?

The SEA region has always been a region full of surprises, now leaving us wondering who will be the next surprise entering TI10 as the SEA TI qualifications are about to kick off.
Stronger than ever

With the recent dominance of T1 during the major, it has become clear that the SEA region is stronger than many of us expected. With only T1 directly qualifying for TI, this leaves a massive amount of formidable teams in the region fighting for that final spot in the qualifications. On the international stage there is a decent collection that has seen the spotlight, but never quite stuck the landing. All these teams now have the massive task ahead of them to tie up loose ends and prepare themselves for maybe their final battle of the season.

TNC Predator is a name that has dominated the SEA scene for many years now. While the team has had a formidable performance during the recent Animajor, just being shy of reaching a top six finish. Their absence during the Singapore Major has caused them to end up in the awkward position of having to play qualifiers to reach the top stage. Nonetheless their player material is top tier, and through new acquisitions their coaching staff is something special too. Having SEA’s most legendary name, Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung, join as their new coach. Stars seem to align for the philipino squad to get themselves to TI10.

High octane gameplay

While TNC Predator was absent during the Singapore Major, it was OB Esports x Neon that took their place with pride. Making an unexpected run through the lower bracket, almost knocking out Team Secret. Their legend wouldn’t live for long however, as their subsequent performance at the second domestic DPC league had them end fifth place, eliminating any hope for a repeat performance in Kyiv. OB Esports x Neon definitely possesses the skill and motivation to perform on a top level. But without consistency there is no way they can stay on top. If the team can once again find their prior form and stay consistent they can bring their high octane gameplay to TI10, if not they will probably need to find a nice palmtree to spend the summer with.

The old guard

No region is complete without an old guard competing to reclaim their former glory. Yes, it’s Fnatic. Once recognized as new blood that upset the status quo by eliminating OG during TI6, names like Marc Polo Luis “Raven” Fausto and Djardel Jicko B. “DJ” Mampusti are now firmly established in the competitive Dota 2 canon.

Early on in the season this established squad playing for an established organization established a number one placement domestically. Future endeavors proved more difficult as the former new blood got surpassed by the new new blood of T1 and Execration. The team now has the hard task showing that their experience can bring the victory when it really matters, staying focused during the grueling TI10 qualifiers.

Dark horses

No Dota 2 competition is complete without its dark horse and in this coming qualification there are two of them that could upset the competition at any point. Team SMG brings names like Damien “kpii” Chok, Tue “ah fu” Soon Chuan and Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng to the table. Players who have played on the very top of Dota 2 competition for multiple years, reaching top three finishes at TI. A team that if they can find their flow, might compete with the best teams at TI.

Finally, Motivate Trust Gaming brings a fearless squad of thai youngsters ton the field that are full of raw talent and have nothing to lose. While being motivated by Souliya “JaCkky” Khoomphetsavong who wants to take revenge on his former team of T1 that kicked him after qualifying for the first major, and is ready the bring the full force of his 12.000 MMR points to his enemy’s. With so many good teams readying themselves for battle, nobody really knows what amazing SEA team will accompany T1 at TI10.
