Warzone – How to use Claymores and Proximity Mines

Usually players prefer to take Thermite, Semtex or the Molotov in their loadouts. In most cases those are indeed superior to the other options, but Claymores and Proximity Mines can also be used effeciently.

Many players use them to barricade themselves in a house by securing the entrances, but there are also offensive uses for them!

How to use Proximity Mines offensively

You should always pick up Proximity Mines if you find them as loot. Equip them and quickly place them at often frequented areas of the map before picking up your earlier equipment again. This doesn’t cost you too much time, but can earn you a lot of important information.

If a player later walks through the Mine you will get a Hitmarker, that will reveal your opponent’s exact position. Especially once the zone starts shrinking, that can be the deciding factor over victory or defeat.

But even at the start of a round you cannot underestimate random hits. You will at least destroy the armor of the player, but ideally you can even get a free kill.

The Proximity Mine deals damage in a 360° radius up to 200 damage, while the Claymore will only deal damage towards the front with up to 140 damage. But the Claymore has the benefit of activating a lot faster. Fast players can even dodge the effect of the Proximity Mine entirely by laying down in time before the damage goes out after activation.

As you can see, not only campers can benefit from Claymores or Proximity Mines. Utilize all the loot you find to your best ability and you will get rewarded for it.
