Vitality through to ESL Pro Series final after comfortably beating OG

An impressive ESL Pro Series run by OG ended in the semifinals after Vitality rolled the European team 2-0. It was an even more impressive French side that secured their first grand final appearance since late 2020.

OG picked Mirage, which kind of surprised Vitality. “We thought they would pick Dust 2, but they didn’t, unlucky,” said Kévin “misutaaa” Rabier. “We feel really confident in our Mirage”. Vitality picked Nuke.

It was OG however that had the best start. They quickly established a 4-0 lead before Vitality slowly took over. By flanking quickly, they abused the mid-round indecisiveness of OG. The European team struggled throughout the rest of the first half and found themselves trailing 6-9 at half time.

Now on the attacking side, Vitality won the pistol and ever-important second round to jump out to a 14-8 lead. It was once again Shahar “flameZ” Shushan that started the OG rally, but it was too little too late. Despite his heroics, Vitality took the OG map pick 16-12.

With the opening map under their belt, Vitality started off their map pick strong with the pistol and second round win. OG struck back by winning the next three, but that would pretty much be the end of OG in the first half. Vitality dominated by taking away rotations and went into the defensive side with an 11-4 lead.

OG tried, but never got rolling, only picking up 7 rounds, losing Nuke 16-7, and the series 2-0. Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut topped off a good performance with 114 ADR on Nuke.
