VALORANT – Test servers will come in summer 2021

Riot Games plans on introducing a Public Beta Environment (PBE) for VALORANT. They are working on servers that can be used to test updates before their official release. But we may have to wait until summer next year.

Similar to their successful MOBA League of Legends Riot Games is working on a PBE for VALORANT. The test servers are important for testing changes and new features before the release in the official game modes.  That will help to reduce the number of bugs and glitches introduced to the running game and ranked matches.

PBE coming first half of 2021

VALORANT is the new star on the esports horizon with its hype in early 2020, but it needs a more professional environment around it. The Public Beta Environment is part of that. The first test servers will not come for the next couple of months though, as we may have to wait until June next year for the release.

Still, creating a PBE is an important step to improving the fresh esports title in a sustainable way. “This will also help us to gather more information so we can capture performance changes and expose bugs early that players might run into.”, said Senior Release Manager Corrie Hardin.

In the past patches could cause crashes, exploits, and more glitches that negatively influenced the competitive experience. One of the most famous examples is the Omen exploit, which allowed you to pass the barriers before round start. Errors like that can be prevented with a PBE environment.
