VALORANT: Riot teases new agents and game modes

In a new developer diary, Riot Games gave out some more information regarding future updates of their game VALORANT, as well as teasing new agents and game modes that might be coming out soon.

Aside from quality of life updates and bug fixes Riot Games also talked about new content, which we can expect in Act II. “Episodes are meant to last about six months with Acts lasting about two months each. Agents will release at the beginning of an act, so if your math skills are awesome you’ve figured out we’re targeting about six agents a year.” Aside from bringing new content to the game, the Act system will also be used to expand on the lore of the game.

New game modes will also make their way to VALORANT. “Originally we had planned to launch with only the core bomb mode, but we heard from you that you were looking for a downtime mode, something shorter. So we released Spike Rush.” Riot Games didn’t disclose when a new game mode will be releasing, but says it’s likely that a new game mode will come out before the beginning of Act II.

To close out their development diary Riot quickly touched on player behaviour and moderation, asking the players to use the ‘report’ tool when necessary. “We’re working on a way to let you know when your reports actually have action taken on them, but please know we’re actively restricting and banning players based on those reports. So please keep reporting those (toxic) people so we can keep the game a healthy place for everybody.”
