Undying goes perfect in regional NA qualifier, punches ticket to TI10

An undefeated run through the North American regional qualifiers, and a ticket to The International 10. Undying will be part of the biggest stage Dota 2 has to offer.

Undying dominated the competition in a perfect 9-0 qualifier run. Being one of the only teams to come close to Evil Geniuses and Quincy Crew throughout the 2021 Dota Pro Circuit, Undying entered the qualifier as clear favorite.

In the two regional seasons, Undying placed third both times.

The team ended their run with a 3-0 sweep of 4Zoomers in the finals.

For Jonathan “Bryle” Santos De Guia and Jonáš “SabeRLight-” Volek, this will be the first International event.

The other members of the team do have TI experience, with MoonMeander returning for the first time since TI6 when he was part of OG. Enzo “Timado” O’Connor played in 2017 with Infamous, and DuBu played for Fnatic during TI9.

“I’m an experienced player and have been at the top of two esports, Heroes of Newerth and Dota 2,” MoonMeander said during a BeyondTheSummit interview.

“I had been winning Majors and then fell down to the deepest depths of Dota, of Tier 5 shrubbery… I was playing open qualifiers. I have been around the world and played in three regions. Now I’m finally back at TI and I’m going to tell my team, no matter what happens, do your best, have no regrets. Because I had some regrets at some TIs.”

Undying joins Team Spirit, Fnatic, and SG e-sports as the last qualifier T10 teams, with just the European and Chinese region still competing for the last spots.

The total prize pool for The International 10 is over $40,000,000.
