Ubisoft employees release open letter in solidarity with Activision Blizzard employees

In the wake of the sexual harassment lawsuit against Activision Blizzard, Ubisoft employees have now also spoken out about the situation and demand accountability.

In the open letter Ubisoft employees go on to criticize how their own company has handled sexual misconduct in the past, when multiple allegations surfaced. In the end, three of their senior executives stepped down. Now the employees at Ubisoft have spoken out in support of the workers at Activision Blizzard, who face a lawsuit for sexual harassment and sexism in the workplace, supporting their walkout.

One of the things talked about is a passage aimed at the management of Ubisoft, who have failed to make a meaningful change. “We have seen nothing more than a year of kind words, empty promises and an inability or unwillingness to remove known offenders. We n longer trust your commitment to address these issues at their core. You need to do more.

Ubisoft employees also look beyond Ubisoft and Activision Blizzard and want to change the industry to the core, aiming for industry-wide change. To make some of these changes happen, the letter talks about incorporating a set of rules and standards. “We need real, fundamental changes, within Ubisoft, within Activision Blizzard, and across the industry. To this end, we propose that Activision Blizzard, Ubisoft and other industry-leading publishers and developers collaborate and agree to a set of rules and processes for handling reports of these offences.”
