LEC team Excel is moving some of their pieces around, as mid laner Paweł “Czekolad” Szczepanik and support Tore “Tore” Hoel Eilertsen depart the team.
Excel went on to announce their decision in a statement made on Twitter by coach Joey “Youngbuck” Steltenpool, where they explain the reasoning behind the departure of the promising rookie and experienced support player. “Roster changes are never easy, however, we have to look at ways to improve our team’s synergy and performance. We have done extensive tryouts during the offseason and are confident we have a roster going forward that will help us achieve our Summer Split ambitions.”

The two players Excel are rumored to pick up are veteran mid laner Erlend “Nukeduck” Våtevik, who previously played for Astralis, and Petr “denyk” Haramach, who was active as the support for Misfits Gaming. It’ll be interesting to see if these signings can help propel Excel into playoff contention.
Excel missed out on the Spring Split playoffs as they ended up in eight place with a 7-11 record. They were still in the running for a spot however and they ended up beating G2 Esports and Rogue in the final weekend before falling to a surging Schalke 04.
