The LEC schedule is here – MAD Lions to open Summer Split against G2 Esports

The LEC schedule is finally here and now we know which matches we get to look forward to in the opening weekend.

The LEC regular season will start on June 11 and will conclude on August 1, with the teams then moving on to playoffs based on their results. The first weekend of matches will include three match days instead of two, with five games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Among these games are some real treats for the fans.

First off MAD Lions will be taking on G2 Esports. MAD had a good showing at MSI 2021 and crowned themselves as the LEC champions in the Spring Split, where G2 Esports failed to reach the finals and are looking for revenge. Another interesting match is the one between Vitality and Schalke 04, two teams who made some big changes to their roster.

Finally, while they don’t play each other in the first weekend, a lot of eyes are on Fnatic and SK Gaming following their roster shuffle and jungler swaps, with top laner Bwipo making the swap to jungle for Fnatic and support Treatz moving into the jungle for SK Gaming. Time will tell if these moves will pay off for the teams, especially now that there are Worlds spots on the line.
