A very big announcement came out from popular Cloud9 player Tysen “TenZ” Ngo yesterday, who decided to step down from the VALORANT roster and will leave competitive VALORANT. TenZ will move on to pursue his career as a content creator but will stay with the organization going forward.
After Cloud9 announced the news on their Twitter page, TenZ talked about his decision to leave competitive VALORANT. “Hope everyone can support me in this decision. During this time while I am off the team, I will be dedicating it towards my personal stream/YouTube to produce some more content. I’ll come back to competitive play when I see the time is right. Until next time everyone!” His first stream since the announcement was one of his most watched, setting a new viewer record.

TenZ leaving the Cloud9 roster is a huge shock and loss for Cloud9 and the VALORANT competitive scene as a whole. TenZ was known as one of the most talented players in the scene and despite great individual performances, Cloud9 couldn’t really leave their mark in VALORANT. TenZ previously had a career in CS:GO before making the switch to VALORANT. It’s currently unclear who Cloud9 will bring in to replace TenZ, but it’ll prove to be a difficult task.

His departure leaves Cloud9 with three players on the roster, being Skyler “Relyks” Weaver, Mitch “mitch” Semago, Daniel “vice” Kim with James “JamezIRL” Macauley as a coach.
