Sony suspends PlayStation sales in Russia & donates millions to victims of War in Ukraine

Sony announced on Twitter that they will suspend all sales of hardware and software (including new release Gran Turismo 7) in Russia due to the war in Ukraine. The Japanese company has also announced support and donations to the victims of the war.

Sony to suspend all business in Russia

As more gaming companies are joining the sanctions against Russia due to the war, Sony is the latest industry giant to remove ties to Russia after Activision Blizzard and Electronic Arts three days ago. All sales of their products will be halted in Russia, including newest release Gran Turismo 7 and the coveted PlayStation 5 consoles.

Before the State of Play on Wednesday PlayStation officially announced that all sales, physical or digital will be suspended in Russia.

The Japanese company has also announced support for the victims of war and will donate two million US-Dollar to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees as well as international NGOs like Save the Children.
