Rumor: What we know about Warzone’s upcoming new map

The new Warzone has officially been leaked, but the debate around where it could potentially be has still raged on.

Though many have speculated that the new Warzone map would take place in the Ural Mountains, new rumors suggest that this prospective map has been scrapped. Since the dawn of season 2, leaks have suggested that Verdansk would be nuked in order to deal with the zombie infestation that took place. Audio files and leaked trailers suggesting such were quickly taken down by Activision, however many have decided that this new map will be set in a remodeled Verdansk instead of the original Ural Mountain concept.

Though a blurry image from an unknown origin, the new map has been leaked on Twitter and passed around various sources. The snowy peaks and mountainous divide certainly imply that this new map is in Ural Mountains however many still hold that the new map will be set n 1980s Verdansk.

Areas of interest in this new map include Battery, Sanatorium, Zoo, Ski Slopes, Weather Station, Chemical Labs, Mines, Buga, and Ruka. This is an incredibly interesting, colorful, and diverse map as it features far less buildings than the original Verdansk map and features far more open, exposed spaces. While many Battle Royale maps have often used urban landscapes as their backdrop, this map could prove to be a fresh take as drops into any one of these areas could be a vastly different experience considering the sheer number of biomes available.
