Rogue end the LEC regular season at first place – Vitality claim the last playoff spot

The battle for the last LEC playoff spot ended in dramatic fashion, as Vitaliy became the last team to enter the post-season.

The playoffs have been solidified as the six competing teams are now locked in for the post-season. Rogue, G2, MAD Lions, Misfits, Fnatic, and Vitality will all battle out for the LEC Summer 2021 Championship. After a contentious end, Rogue managed to maintain their first place spot. Meanwhile, the saga of the sixth place spot finally found its resolution as Team Vitality beat out both Astralis and Excel. All teams seem vulnerable but have shown incredible peaks. How the post-season will play out is currently anyone’s guess.

Rogue cements themselves as the first seed

Rogue had once more chance to show off their macro-focused, slow burn style of gameplay against SK Gaming. Sure enough, the inevitable first seeds dominated SK in a 28-minute game. Rogue looked in peak form before entering the post-season, absolutely taking over every lane and preventing SK from taking a single neutral objective.

After having a rather ‘coinflip’ game yesterday, Steven “Hans sama” Liv had a solid performance. Finishing with a perfect KDA and 5 kills on Xayah, Hans Sama and Trymbi certainly seem like a botlane to fear in playoffs.

Vitality prevail, earn spot against Fnatic

Vitality’s berth into the post-season seemed destined today, as Vitality both defeating Astralis and G2 won out in a close match against Excel. Vitality’s win against Astralis was a crucial win that decided their fate, however they still relied on G2 to send them to the post-season. Once again, Excel fell short of playoffs despite having a resurgence in the second half of the season.

Jus “Crownshot” Marusic, a member of the squad since late Spring, was vital in the team’s playoff berth. Now facing off against Fnatic, Selfmade will get a shot against his old team in the first Bo5 of the Summer.
