The EP of the Riot Games MMO Project Greg “Ghostcrawler” Street has released a statement talking about his experiences with the infamous ‘Cosby Suite’.
For those who don’t know, the ‘Cosby Suite’ is the nickname of a hotel room in which Blizzard developers would drink lots of alcohol and would have informal meetings. In a group chat centered around the suite, a lot of derogatory and sexist remarks were made. You can read up on it here. Street was previously employed at Blizzard.

Street starts out by saying he supports the employees of Activision Blizzard in their stand against harassment and discrimination at the company. He goes on to deny he ever saw harassment in regards to the allegations. “Anyone who has been to BlizzCon knows that there is drinking, but I can genuinely say that I never saw or experienced any of the harassment described in the allegations – and if I had, I absolutely would have stepped in.”
Re: the group chat. Dave was talking about his own wife and a friend. It was a joke, not intended for a broad audience. But the chat is gross and I completely understand how it looks. I should have said something.

He also says that the suite was named after an old portrait they found, unaware of the reputation of Cosby and the accusations against him that would surface later. “Looking back I am embarrassed at the nickname of that room, given all that we know now. At the time in 2013, it was nothing more to me than a silly reference to an old flea-market portrait.”
