Riot Games to tackle win trading and match-fixing in Wild Rift

Riot Games will be taking more action against match-fixers and win traders in Wild Rift by (permanently) banning offenders and following them more closely.

In a blog post made to the Wild Rift website, Riot Games talks about the steps they are taking to prevent and manage win trading in their game. “Accounts with the highest win trading activity will be permanently banned. Other accounts with evidence of win trading will be banned for 7 days as a warning, with all Season 1 rewards removed. These accounts will also be reset to Iron IV. Any repeat offenders from this list will be permanently banned.“

Riot Games goes on to say they’re working hard at trying not to hinder normal and innocent players, assuring they’ll be safe. “That said, we wanted to minimize catching any innocent players, so we’re being cautious about what criteria we’re using this time around (so if you have personally had the occasional rough game, or seen some weird behavior on your team that you didn’t encourage, you’ll be in the clear!)”

As Wild Rift continues to grow it looks like Riot Games is working hard at creating an environment featuring competitive integrity. With the game now being released in almost all major regions (and with a blossoming esports scene), it looks like these changes were necessary.
