Rebirth Island Rework is coming to Warzone – What we know so far

Official news and announcements are still sparse, but there are plenty of hints that a large rework for Rebirth Island is on its way.

Hidden among the Patch Notes

The first hint was quite subtle and many probably read over the line without realizing its meaning. Within the patch notes for Season 2 there was a single sentence hinting at things to come:

Meanwhile, there are rumors of a resurgence at Rebirth Island…but we’re not talking about the game mode.

“A Resurgence” is sounding like a major change to the map, Rebirth Island will most likely get a rework after two years. Rebirth Island was first implemented to the game during Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 on December 16, 2020.

Familiar Foe

The newly re-introduced Iron Trials on Rebirth Island also gave another hint towards the future of the map.

As we know the Iron Trials will be available until March 17, a map ework is most likely to hit the game after that. Which “familiar foe” the developers are hinting at is a bit unclear, but we can expect more details to come soon.
