Preseason: These champions will be buffed and nerfed

The 2020 ranked season has officially ended and preseason is upon us! An exciting time with lots of new stuff. Not only have champions been nerfed, buffed, or changed, there will also be a lot of new items introduced to the game. It will take time and practice to get used to all the new things, but we made a quick overview about the important champion changes!

First off, we can not know for sure which champion will be overpowered or underwhelming with all the new items in the game, but we have a strong feeling that some champions will be stronger in this patch than others.

Buffs & Nerfs

The already strong Sylas, Kassadin and Akali will get a small buff. Since the Presence Of Mind rune will be changed in the next season, many champions will have issues with mana and/or energy. Therefore, these three will get a buff concerning their mana and/or energy bar. Since they are already being played a lot and can be obnoxious to deal with, this buff feels weird. This buff will be implemented for almost 22 champions but will be most impactful on previously mentioned three champions.

With every patch also come nerfed champions. Most of the nerfs are directed to mana and movement speed. But the biggest nerfs are for Brand and Amumu. Luckily these aren’t frequently played champions, but they are being nerfed nonetheless. Brand will have a higher cooldown on his E-ability Conflagration and thus will be hit in the damage-output-department. Amumu will be hit in the tank-department as his base armour will be down by 3 and his HP per level down by 4. This will be felt in his early clearing in the jungle where you will have to be more careful and smarter in selecting your jungle pathing.

Overall, we still cannot know for sure which champion will dominate the rift or which one will not see the light of day again. After all, a great deal has changed and a new meta will take over.
