Players from Team Aster and Invictus Gaming test positive for COVID ahead of TI10

Team Aster announced the news about their COVID-19 troubles on Chinese social media platform Weibo. There they informed fans that multiple players tested positive for the virus, as well staff members. The affected players and staff were said to be Du “Monet” Peng, Ye “Borax” Zhibiao, Lin “Xxs” Jing, coach Cheng “Mad” Han, and one unspecified staff member. According to them, they haven’t been in contact with others.

Support and player-coach Zhang “LaNm” Zhicheng wasn’t happy with how everything was run in regards to COVID-19 safety measures in the hotel they were staying at. “We wanted to fly in just before the start of the tournament, but PGL insisted that every team arrived at the same time as ‘bootcamp will be provided’. Yeah they provided the bootcamp alright, but it’s just that and nothing else.”

Later that day Invictus Gaming also came out with the news that one of their players, Thiay “JT-” Jun Wen, has since tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. “Following the team’s negative PCR results on the 28th, JT- started to feel unwell with a high temperature in the morning of 29th. We arranged a 2nd PCR test immediately and unfortunatelyJT- is now tested COVID positive. The supporting staff remains negative.”
