No in-game Champions skins for VCT Champions winner, says Riot

Sorry Champions winner, you will not receive an in-game skin for winning the most prestigious tournament in VALORANT history.

Despite incredible support by the fans, Riot will not be providing in-game skins of the winning team as it does for the League of Legends World Championships. The community was hoping to get their hands on some unique skins after Riot Games revealed their Champions bundle brought in over 15 million dollars, with half of that going to the 16 participating teams.

The exact number is yet to be revealed as players can still buy the Champions 2021 bundle until the conclusion of the event.

During an AMA on December 10, producer Pretty Khanolkar crushed the hopes of the VALORANT fanbase by saying “no skins for the winners of Champions 2021.”

The players who win Champions will get in-game recognition with custom player titles and gun buddies to commemorate their success, but those won’t be available to the public.

Many now hope this decision is one that will be remedied going into the 2022 VCT season. With Riot announcing the outline of the next competitive season, many hope for multiple ways to support their favorite teams and players.

With local national leagues set to be formed, an overarching European super league similar to the LEC in League of Legends might be on the horizon too.
