Misfits and G2 lock in playoff spots – Rogue claim sole possession of the LEC’s first place

The number of available playoff spots are decreasing by the day as Rogue dominated Fnatic.

Rogue and Fnatic have already confirmed their spot in the 2021 LEC Summer Playoffs, but a battle for first seed saw Rogue emerge victorious. Meanwhile, the final spots for the postseason are growing slimmer and slimmer. The main teams competing for the coveted sixth spot are Team Vitality, Astralis, and SK. Both teams lost critical matches today which granted Misfits and G2 a spot in playoffs. As the season nears its end, here are the teams that put their best foot forward.

G2 locked in for playoffs – Does SK actually have a chance?

Few could have predicted G2’s path this year, but the superstar team have guaranteed themselves a spot in the post season. G2’s victory over SK did not come easy however, as SK initially found a dragon lead and was only marginally down in gold. Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski snowballed his lead into a massively winning game for G2.

With one decisive team fight, G2 were able to get off the ground and eventually find the opposing nexus. G2 have long been a ‘better’ postseason team, and once again the squad have a chance to prove themselves. This iteration may have fallen flat in the Spring, but on a recent hotstreak, G2 could finish strong and live up to their high expectations.

Rogue stand alone at the top of the LEC

Last years runners up, Rogue have come back with a vengeance. Faced with their first place rivals, Fnatic, Rogue dominated in a landslide victory. Kacper “Inspired” Sloma had an impeccable performance on Xin Zhao. With an incredible +2239 GD@15 and 643 DPM, Inspired had one of the best individual performances of the season thus far.

Going into playoffs, Rogue have all but guaranteed a spot in the upper bracket. If they maintain the top seed, Rogue have a clear pathway to Worlds 2021.
