In a relatively recent leak a number of pictures were posted online on Reddit, which show numerous screenshots of gameplay and Pokémon in the upcoming Pokémon Legends Arceus game. While we now know most of the Pokémon in those screenshots, among them Hisuian Braviary and Stantler’s new evolution Wyrdeer, one of them remains (literally) shrouded in mystery.

On the screenshot a figure can be seen climbing a mountain, which fans suggest to be a new evolution of the Sneasel line. Sneasel itself was introduced in the second generation and gained an evolution in the fourth generation in the form of Weavile. It’s mostly speculation at this point, but the feather on the head of the figure seems to link back to Sneasel. The lore and history that Sneasel is based on, namely the kamaitachi, also seems like a great fit for an Hisuian form.
Many fans are discussing the ideas on Reddit and Twitter and some leakers have already come out to say they confirm that Sneasel is getting a new form or evolution. All these claims aren’t official, of course. In any case, more information about Pokémon Legends Arceus and the new forms and mechanics are released more and more regularly, so we should get an update soon.
