Is k0nfig going to Astralis?

Recent reports from Jaxon have alleged that Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke will not re-sign with his current organization, Complexity. Sources have suggested that the Danish rifler is close to closing a deal with Astralis. This comes at a transitional time for both Astralis and Complexity, as k0nfig has missed the past several months of play due to a wrist injury. In his stead, Brazilian superstar Marcelo “coldzera” David has competed for Complexity.

It has been rumored that Coldzera may stay as a permanent member of the team as konfig’s contract runs up. During his time at Complexity, k0nfig stood as the team’s star fragger. Together, the team consistently competed at the top during the online era of CS:GO. Most notably, Complexity took a first place finish at the BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 European Finals.

For Astralis, three contracts are soon approaching their end. Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth, and Emil “Magisk” Reif will all be free agents by the end of the year. Along with this, Astralis’ coach, Danny “zonic” Sørensen will also be free to leave the team and rumors have circled that zonic has already made plans to depart form Astralis. Currently, only Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander, Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen, and Philip “Lucky” Ewald are all looked into Astralis for 2022.

With plenty of open spots, it seems increasingly likely that k0nfig will end up on Astralis. Though nothing is official yet, k0nfig’s move to Astralis will likely bring coldzera back into the competitive space. Whether or not k0nfig signs with Astralis, it does seem his time with Complexity has ended.
