For those who don’t know, Key Fragments are components that can be turned (or crafted) into Hextech Keys, which open Hextech Chests, with the latter containing some valuable loot in the form of cosmetics or champion shards. You’ll need three fragments to make a key, so let’s take a look at ways to earn these fragments (instead of just buying them).
Be ‘honorable’
There’s multiple ways to obtain more key fragments, but all of them will include some form of grinding, meaning it’ll take some time and can often get more difficult as you rise in level. The easiest way to get Key Fragments is by using the honor system in League of Legends. If you’re friendly and avoid getting banned after matches, Riot will often reward you with fragments upon logging in. You’ll get even more if you’re higher up the honor ladder, so working together and communicating while playing can get you far.

Level up & other ways
Another way to get keys is by leveling up your account, which will get you a Champion Capsule, which might include a fragment, although this isn’t guaranteed. Otherwise you can find fragments in Hextech Chests, which is nice when it happens but it’s obviously not a sustainable way to get more of them.
