forZe crashes es3tag Complexity debut at EPL

forZe has started off their ESL Pro League Season 14 with a 2-1 win over Complexity, ruining es3tag’s debut with the American organization.

The series itself was back and forth, and with the surprise wins of Sinners and OG earlier, forZe finds themselves in a good position going into day 2.

It needs to be said that Complexity wasn’t at full power, with Niels Christian “NaToSaphiX” Sillassen filling in for Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke, who sustained a wrist injury making him unavailable for the coming weeks.

The series started on forZe’s map pick of Mirage where we saw new addition Aleksandr “zorte” Zagodyrenko performing very well in the clutch department. Complexity fought back any way they could for a 6-9 scoreline. Despite a 6-2 run by Complexity on their terrorist side, they were unable to secure Mirage. forZe up 1-0 in the series with a 16-12 win.

While they failed to overthrow forZe on the first map, it was all Complexity in the second half of Nuke. They started off well by winning the first three rounds, before conceding eight rounds in a row. A late first-half comeback got Complexity to six Terrorist rounds, setting up their defense.

Complexity won eight of the first nine rounds in the second half, to choke out any chances forZe might have thought they had. The mixed-European team closed out their map pick, 16-12, evening the series and going into a decisive third map.

forZe came out guns blazing on Ancient, winning the first ten rounds before finally losing one to Complexity. This early run set the CIS side up for success, as they only needed to trade rounds for the rest of the map to secure the upset win, taking Ancient with a 16-9 scoreline.
