FaZe Clan close to signing ropz to replace olofmeister, report says

Ropz is one of the prime examples of solo queue hero turned professional. After showing his skills in the FPL ladder on Faceit, he was picked up by MOUZ (then Mousesports) in April 2017. He has been playing for the German organization since. Earlier reports had him signing to either G2 Esports or FaZe Clan, but it seems Kool is going the FaZe route.

The Estonian superstar still has a couple of months remaining on his contract with MOUZ but FaZe clan doesn’t seem to be willing to wait for the contract to expire. The North American organization is reportedly in advanced talks with MOUZ to buy out ropz from the remainder of his contract.

Talks are so well advanced that ropz and FaZe are already discussing contract details, according to the report. Ropz is thought to replace Swedish veteran Olof “olofmeiser” Kajbjer. Kajbjer has been part of FaZe since August 2017 but has stepped down from the starting roster in a couple of occasions due to personal problems.

If ropz and FaZe come to an agreement, he will rejoin his old MOUZ in-game leader Finn “karrigan” Andersen. They played together from March 2019 to February 2021. MOUZ seems to be looking inside the organization to fill the new vacant slot in the roster. Rather than shopping around and bringing in a new player, it will look to promote one of the MOUZ NXT players. The academy roster has had a dominant year, winning both seasons of the WePlay Academy League.
