Faker: “Korean solo queue quality is so low, compared to EU”

One of the best to ever play League of Legends has given a big compliment to the European solo queue. Or a dig to the Korean one, whichever you prefer.

It’s a very normal occurrence that participants of international events keep their form by playing solo queue in the region they’re attending that tournament. Three-time champion Faker, a semi-finalist in Worlds 2021, said during one of his streams that his games in Korea are infinitely worse than the ones he played during the Iceland tournament.

To further strengthen his point, he showed his match history on the Korean server. In a lot of his Challenger games, he was sabotaged by AFK teammates and remakes of games. Faker went back in time long enough to see there was a pattern to his losses, and that his examples weren’t just outliers.

Twitter user Gatamchun translated part of Faker’s rant.  “The thing is, the Korean solo queue quality is so low, compared to EU,” Faker said. “Here (in Korea), 8 to 9 of ten games are already busted.”

Much more than in other servers and regions, Faker feels the Korean solo queue games are very often already decided after the first couple of minutes or result in very quick losses due to the teammates who sabotage the game.

With pretty much every account of every progamer known to the public, it’s next to impossible to enjoy a solo queue game without someone recognizing you. It’s also very common knowledge that people will often make it as hard as possible for Faker to win games, even if they’re on his team.
