Ex-Heroic Coach HUNDEN to be sued for breach of contract

Danish esport organisation Heroic and ex-coach Nicolai “HUNDEN” Petersen’s separation is turning into a mudslinging contest. Heroic is accusing the 30-year old coach of sharing their strategies with opposing teams in the leadup to IEM Cologne 2021.

Sharing the confidential strategies was the reason why the Danish team dissolved HUNDEN’s contract and had Troels “robl” Robl take over coaching duties during IEM Cologne. In their statement Heroic said that HUNDEN’s actions were a clear breach of contract was led to his sacking.

Now the incident is also reaching a legal dimension. According to the Tweet two courts in Denmark have already started collecting evidence. Heroic also informed ESL and ESIC, who have also launched their own investigations.

HUNDEN himself also took to Twitter to deny the allegations, dismissing them as rumours the day prior to the most recent statement by Heroic. According to him, he did not share the strategies of Heroic although he admitted to sharing anti-strat material of other teams.

ESL’s Senior Vice President of Product also issued a statement on Thursday, saying that their investigation led to the finding, that IEM Cologne’s competitive integrity was not affected by HUNDEN’s actions. According to their investigation the shared folder was not accessed by anyone. The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has also announced to be waiting on the legal proceedings before contemplating potential sanctions.
