CS:GO referees who discover spectating bug get GoFundMe campaign to reward efforts

Recently the professional CS:GO community has been in an uproar after a spectating bug was discovered that was used by coaches in competitive matches. The bug was discovered by two referees and a GoFundMe campaign was now launched by CS:GO talent Chad “SPUNJ” Burchill and Tres “stunna” Saranthus to reward their efforts.

The spectator bug was discovered by Michal Slowinski and Steve Dudenhoeffer and they posted their findings to social media in the past week. Both referees put a lot of work into this case, rewatching demos to discover any coaches that might have abused the exploit to gain a competitive advantage. This led to official bans for multiple coaches from teams such as MIBR and Heroic. The coach of FURIA was also accused.

SPUNJ took to Twitter to launch a GoFundMe campaign to further reward the efforts of the pair, praising their hard work. “The recent events in the CS:GO scene have been unsettling but necessary. Without the hard work of Michal and Steve the problem could have been more rampant. stunna has set up a GoFundMe for the efforts of our champions against cheating.”

The community looks like it’s set to reward the pair for their work, as the GoFundMe has already garnered more than 6000 dollars at the time of writing. Slowinski reacted to the GoFundMe page on Twitter. “First of all – Thank you. I don’t really know what to say apart from that.”
