CoD, Among Us and more – These are the nominees for the Game Awards 2020

On December 10 the yearly Game Awards will be handed out to the gaming industry. Who are this year’s nominees?

The Game Awards are counted among the most important awards in the industry and many in the scene are eager to win one for themselves.
This year the event will only be broadcasted online, but with games like Call of Duty, Among Us or VALORANT competing, the awards are still sure to draw an audience.

The nominees

As usual the awards cover a wide variety of categories. Some games like Call of Duty: Warzone got nominated for several of them, but the most important category remains the “Game of the Year”.
The Game Awards also feature esports categories such as “Best Esport Team” or “Best Esport Athlete”.

Doom Eternal, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Ghost of Tsushima, Hades, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, The Last of Us: Part 2

Best Esports Game

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Fortnite, Valorant

Best Ongoing Game

Apex Legends, Destiny 2, Call of Duty: Warzone, Fortnite, No Man’s Sky

Best Multiplayer

Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Among Us, Call of Duty: Warzone, Fall Guys, Valorant

Best Esports Team

Damwon Gaming (LoL), Dallas Empire (CoD), G2 Esports (LoL), San Francisco Shock (OWL), Team Secret (Dota2)

Best Esports Event

BLAST Premier: Spring (CS:GO), Call of Duty League Championship, IEM Katowice (CS:GO), LoL Worlds, Overwatch League Grand Finals

Best Esports Athlete

Ian “Crimsix” Porter (CoD), Heo “Showmaker” Su (LoL), Kim “Canyon” Geon-Bu (LoL),  Anthony “Shotzzy” Cuevas-Castro (CoD), Matthieu “ZywOo” Herbaut (CS:GO)
