There’s a lot to get excited about surrounding the new Witcher game, as CD Project Red has already teased and denied a few things about the game. One of those things is that they’ll be switching over to a brand new engine, being Unreal Engine 5 and that this time the game won’t be an exclusive, meaning it’ll be available on multiple platforms. “We are not planning on making the game exclusive to one storefront.”

The global PR director of CD Projekt Red took to Twitter to clarify some things surrounding the announcement. “What we have NOT announced today: A game called The Witcher 4, a game exclusive to one storefront. It was our initial confirmation of a new saga in The Witcher franchise. Right now, we are not discussing any specifics in terms or story, characters, mechanics, or plot details.”

Aside from releasing information about the new Witcher game, the studio also talked about the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 expansion. “Simultaneously with these announcements, CD PROJEKT RED also provided confirmation that REDengine, the technology which powers Cyberpunk 2077, is still being used for the development of the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 expansion.”
