3 Issues that need to be fixed before Call of Duty: Vanguard releases

The beta is over and there is not much time left before the release of Call of Duty: Vanguard on November 5. Developer Sledgehammer still has a couple of open issues to tackle until then.

No more murder kitchen

Spawns are one of the big problems in Vanguard. In some cases players respawned immediately in front of their opponents, especially Hotel Royal’s murder kitchen gained infamy for being a hotspot in that regard.

The developers are aware of the issues and mentioned the murder kitchen by name in hteir list of things to take care of before release. Among the entries in the list you can also find the dognados as well as other problems.

Cheaters are already infesting the servers

But besides the developer acknowledged issues, many players are also criticizing other aspects too. The biggest one is unfortunately cheating. Although it was just a beta, there were already aimbots and wallhacks on the servers for Vanguard.

While the many cheating instances encountered are worrying, we still cannot say if the game will struggle that much with cheaters once release comes around. The new anti-cheat system is not active yet, but it cleary has a lot of work in front of it.

Balance needs another do-over

Some perks and field upgrades have also earned the ire of the players. Armor Plates are singled out as one of the most broken aspects in Vanguard.

A couple of perk, weapon and ammunition combinations are also decried as overpowered. One example cited is using Overkill and Ghost and the same time. This results in two primary weapons loaded with attachments that are almost impossible to detect.

Sledgehammer Games has repeatedly said, that the beta is only a part of the complete game and that players should not judge Vanguard just on those few excerpts. While that may be true as Vanguard will also have more maps, a zombie mode and a campaign, it is clear that the developers have plenty of work in front of them.
