Renegades eliminate G2 at ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals

Renegades will be playing in the ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals playoffs. They achieved that by defeating G2 in Group A’s lower bracket final elimination match, effectively ending Edouard “SmithZz” Dubourdeaux and Kévin “Ex6TenZ” Droolans’ stay in the French team’s starting lineup.

The match started great for the French with a well-rounded effort on Overpass giving them a 1-0 map lead. The old boys led the way with 24 kills each, trying to go out on a high with a playoff appearance in their final tournament with G2.

Renegades had the last say in this match though. The Aussies have been improving with every game in Odense and they wouldn’t stop now. A close 16-13 on Train followed by a bulldozing effort on Cache and a 16-8 that certified the Australian presence in the Sparekassen Fyn Arena.

We won’t be seeing NRG in the Odense arena, as they gave the “onliners” tag a little more legitimacy with a loss to Ghost Gaming. After going 1-1 on Inferno and Cache, the teams squared off on Mirage in a fight for the right to party with Natus Vincere. NRG were holding an 11-4 lead at the break, but it got to 11-11 before they knew it and the momentum gathered by Ghost couldn’t be stopped, resulting in a 16-14 win for Joshua “steel” Nissan’s gang.

Ghost still have to go through Na`Vi in the Group B lower bracket final if they are to make the playoffs. The match is starting in a few minutes, so you should tune in fast if you want to see the fairy tale flourish.
