Li Ning and EDG launch their own apparel line

Chinese sports apparel brand Li-Ning and Chinese esports organization Edward Gaming have announced their new collaboration known as “Li-Ning X EDG”.

Li-Ning is very renowned in China, where they were previously official partner of NBA and multiple players from the league. The most notable partnership is surely the one with Shaquille O’Neal, which was worth over a billion dollars. Dwayne Wade, another NBA player, signed a lifetime deal with Li-Ning as a result of his long collaboration with the company. The sponsorship deal with EDG was announced earlier this year in October.

EDG are best known for their League of Legends team, placing third in the League of Legends Pro League and securing a spot in the LoL championship. They took the 5th-8th place at the Worlds 2018 Main Event where they lost to Fnatic. Unsurprisingly, EDG also have ties with the NBA, as they had a successful funding round led by the firm of former NBA player Yao Ming.

“Li-Ning X EDGE” is planned to be a special joint apparel line combining the best of both worlds. The news came from Chinese social media platform Weibo, where three of EDG’s players were featured in an advertisement. The three League of Legends stars are Tian “Meiko” Ye, Ming “Clearlove” Kai, and Hu “iboy” Xianzhao. According to the announcement, the products will be available on December 8 at Shanghai’s Daning shopping complex. The three players listed above will also be part of the event, mainly focused on promoting the newest wares.
