Karrigan won't extend Envy stay

Finn “karrigan” Andersen will not be a part of Team Envy any longer after his loan deal with the CS:GO team came to an end. He had joined from FaZe Clan ahead of the IEM Katowice Americas Minor.

Danish in-game leader karrigan had resorted to a loan move to North America after he got benched by his parent organization FaZe Clan in late December. FaZe did not have the best stretch in the latter parts of 2018, and after karrigan lost his IGL duties during the FACEIT Major, it became apparent that his head was probably on the chopping block, especially as results did not improve much following the change.

Unfortunately for him, his stint with Envy was not a fruitful one. He and his American teammates came short in both qualifications they attended – for IEM Katowice and IEM Sydney. The Dane had a rough time on an individual level as well, recording just five maps with a positive K/D in 22 attempts.

It is hard to say whether a better outcome in the Katowice and Sydney campaign would have opened a door for karrigan to carry on with Envy, but as it is, the American adventure is over, at least for now.

Though his replacement on FaZe — Dauren “AdreN” Kystaubayev — is only a stand-in, it is highly unlikely that karrigan will be considered for a return in the starting lineup of the team. His name has been connected with the recently vacated IGL position on mousesports, but at this point, such talk is nothing but speculation.
