Imagine Dragons invest in ReKTGlobal

Imagine Dragons band members and management have announced a new investment in eSports by channelling financial support to ReKTGlobal. Imagine Dragons’ pursuit of eSports titles is not a chance occurrence.

The members have been self-professed gamers and fans of League of Legends. During the 2014 World Championships, they wrote and sang the LoL-inspired ‘Warriors’ song at the League of Legends 2014 World Championship.

The band has chosen a company that seems to be developing well in the industry. RekTGlobal is focused on establishing working infrastructure for future professional video gaming.

It is also the parent organisation of eSports powerhouse Team Rogue, with rosters in both leading battle royale games Fortnite and PUBG.

In an official statement, the Imagine Dragons gave their reasons for endorsing the company and stepping more palpably into the eSports segment:

‘We love gaming and esports and have been looking for new ways to contribute to this community for a long time—but we never found the right fit until now. We expect to see esports continue its rapid growth internationally, and we think Rogue and ReKTGlobal are the partners who will help make our hometown of Las Vegas the premiere team and gaming event destination.’

Imagine Dragons have not been the only celebrities to indulge in gaming and follow the competitive scene personally. Drake has been playing along with Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins on more than one occasion and also hinting that he might write a song about the game.
