We Are Nations has successfully concluded a funding round backed by Esports Ventures LLC, a company that is looking to consolidate its involvement with the esports merchandiser.
Esports retailer and merchandiser We Are Nations announced a recently-concluded funding round carried out with the help of Dan Cardell, Managing Partner at Esports Ventures LLC. This follows another announcement which outlined the company’s plans to expand in both North America and Europe.
We Are Nations will look to market its products through endemic and non-endemic channels, both online and offline, the official press release stated. As a result of the latest investment, Cardell is part of We Are Nations’ Board of Directors.
Here’s what Cardell said as part of the official statement:
We Are Nations is a well-respected name in the esports merchandising space and is known throughout the United States and internationally, and we believe that now is the opportune time to team up with them to help accelerate their impressive growth trajectory.
Cardell and We Are Nations CEO Patrick Mahoney have had a good rapport for a while now, which has now translated into a successful business opportunity. Here’s what Mahoney added about his contacts with Cardell:
I met Dan last fall through Trenton Pierson, our SVP of Strategy, and immediately knew we wanted to work with him. His practical mainstream business experience mixed with his willingness to get involved in an emerging market was really important to us.
Today, We Are Nations has multiple partnerships with established esports powerhouses as OpTic Gaming and most of Riot’s LEC participants. We Are Nations recently acquired rivaled merchandiser Sector Six, with the entire organization now pivoting towards its European expansion.
