Cloud9 release Zellsis, Golden returns to lineup

Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro’s time on Cloud9 has come to an end.

The 21-year-old was on trial with Cloud9, filling in for Maikil “Golden” Selim. The organization apparently was not too thrilled with what they saw from the player in the two months he spent with Cloud9, thus opting not to offer him a permanent contract.

Golden will be returning to the starting lineup following a prolonged period on the bench. His time off the server was not due to poor performance but rather caused by persistent health issues throughout the last four months.

The last tournament he performed at was BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen in the first days of November and even there coach Soham “valens” Chowdhury had to stand-in for Golden in a couple of games.

However, the Swede will not be a direct replacement for Zellsis in the C9 lineup. The team will continue its search for a fifth member as Robin “flusha” Rönnquist has notified them he would like to take a break from competitive Counter-Strike in the wake of the death of his mother.

Rumors have already swirled that the new fifth of C9 will be mousesports man Miikka “suNny” Kemppi. The German org has already given indications of their plans to hit the restart button by benching Martin “STYKO” Styk and Chris “chrisJ” de Jong last month, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone if suNny is the next one to go.
