Zeri’s movement is driving League of Legends players insane

League of Legends has massive expanded its roster of playable characters since the MOBA’s initial release in 2009. With the most recent addition of Zeri, the game is now up to 157 unique champions. While each champion has their own stylized kit, players are up in arms regarding the latest addition’s ‘unique’ playstyle.

Zeri is an ADC meant to rely heavily on movement speed and attack speed, as her ability to physical move around the map is what makes up her ‘charge.’ While the character is meant to be played at breakneck speed, some are questioning whether or not that intent is game breaking. A Twitter video by Team Liquid’s Academy ADC, Yeon, shows off just how absurd Zeri can appear in game.

In a situation that should spell nearly certain death for any other champion, Zeri is able to kite almost the entire enemy team for two minutes straight. Even with a sub-optimal build and a rather poor scoreline, Zeri is even able to pick up a kill in this ridiculous scenario.

Countless other pros weighed in, echoing the astounded sentiments of Yeon. Lourlo even commented that he initially ‘thought it was a bug’ when he first saw it. Though in the hands of a pro, it is clear that Zeri has an uncanny ability to skate around the map and kite like no other champion currently can.

While many have been critical of Riot Games’ release champion release, such as Aphelios, Vex, Viego, and now Zeri, the company shows no signs of slowing down. Player backlash has never stopped Riot before, only fine tuning the champions in play, however likely we will see some changes to the ADC in upcoming patches.
