Will we finally get to see them? – Viego and Gwen enabled in LEC

The two newest champions in League of Legends are finally available in competitive play and chances are we’ll get a glimpse as the LEC kicks off next week.

Having Gwen in competitive play was only a matter of time, as a lot of players have found success on her, she’s mostly stable in solo queue and she’s the most recent champion to be added to the game. Viego however is a completely different story as he still hadn’t been enabled for competitive matches despite being released into the game well over five months ago in January.

While Gwen’s release has been mostly uneventful, Viego’s release came with a flood of bugs that forced Riot to keep him disabled as they tried to get him to a state where he’s stable enough to be played in competitive matches. To this day, small bugs are still being reported, mostly connected to his passive which sees him control dead champions.

The LEC is set to start on June 11 as reigning champions MAD Lions take on challengers G2 Esports in the first match. It’ll certainly be an eventful number of matches, as multiple teams made some interesting changes to their roster that might change the entire dynamic of the teams, rosters and their playstyles.
