Will Rekkles re-sign with Fnatic or make a move as a free agent?

The League of Legends offseason is in full effect and teams are looking to sign new players to strengthen their roster or to re-sign their current players. As Fnatic’s bot laner Martin “Rekkles” Larsson sees his contract with the organisation end he’s looking to explore free agency. Will he return to Fnatic or will we get to see one of the biggest moves in LEC history?

Fnatic has a strong case to keep their 24-year old superstar ADC around. They’ve done consistently well domestically and on the Worlds stage, finishing in the quarter finals in 2020. After reports surfaced that both top laner Gabriel “Bwipo” Rau and support Zdravets “Hylissang” Galabov would be staying with Fnatic, it looked more and more likely that Rekkles would re-sign as well.

With Luka “Perkz” Perković looking to make a move towards Cloud9 in the LCS, G2 Esports is now without an ADC. This makes them a big contender if they really went after Rekkles, offering him a roster with enough quality to make a deep run at Worlds and to be a favorite in the LEC. He’d be reunited with mid laner Rasmus “Caps” Winther over at G2 Esports as well.

It seems like Rekkles will make a choice between either Fnatic or G2 Esports, as there aren’t any big contenders that are in the running for him. A move to the LCS doesn’t seem to be in the cards for him.
