Will Faker reclaim his crown? T1 roll over Hanwha Life in Worlds 2021 Quarter finals

The first Quarter Final match up of Worlds 2021 saw an LCK match-up between Hanwha Life and T1. The series ended in a quick 3-0 fashion for the side of T1, as they dominating Hanwha across all three games. T1 have continued their surprisingly dominant Worlds performance, moving into the semi-finals to face either MAD Lions or Damwon Kia.

For Hanwha Life, their road at Worlds 2021 ended abruptly. Though they may have ended on a sour note, Hanwha Life improved upon their regular season performance immensely. In the Summer Split, Hanwha finished in 8th place before their impressive gauntlet run and Worlds Knockout Stage berth.

T1’s Near Perfect Series

T1 had as close to a perfect series as we have seen any team get in Worlds history. Across the three games, Hanwha Life only found 9 total kills compared to T1’s 43. Individually, Hanwha was outclassed. Moon “Oner” Hyeon-joon finished with an incredible 11/3/21 scoreline while Kim “Willer” Jeong-hyeon finished 0/12/1.

The midlaner matchup was by far the closest part of the sweep. Though Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok prevailed, Hanwha’s midlane prodigy kept his ground by outperforming Faker in the laning phase. Faker is now 6-0 in his Worlds Quarter-finals matchups, with an overall map record of 17-4.

With the team firing perfectly on every role and the T1 solo laners outperforming virtually all their opponents, T1 seem on course to claim their fourth title. T1 are by far the most decorated team in League of Legends history, and another Worlds title would mark the resurgence of the legendary organization.
